How do I get the ps2 to respond to prompts?

Really? I can’t find a source that suggests anything other than Ubuntu.

Inconsistency kills me. I’ve a colleague at work who insists on putting every doc through an llm to make it look nice then dumps it on the wiki. Now the wiki is a clusterfuck of assumptions and inconsistent styling.

Our documentation on some tedious process does not need to look like a magazine article nor does it help me find the salient code snippets that will help me understand why this awkward bit of code is the way it is.

For me steam deck has killed any notion of getting a gaming laptop. Decent spec laptop (7yr old though) which I rarely need to take anywhere, gaming desktop 5700/3070 and steam deck if I want to game. Though I’m not much into multiplayer. Tbh even at home I find myself on the deck more than the desktop for gaming these days.

Merge/test/fix on a separate branch and then merge this into main when the freeze lifts?

None of which makes the distro shite. The things I remember them getting shit for are:

Unity/mir

Upstart

Snaps

Amazon ads

Advertising their premium version.

Of all of those the Amazon thing is the only one I have a strong objection to. The rest I can’t say I’ve even particularly noticed the changes if I’m honest and most other Ubuntu users probably haven’t either. They seem to get a lot of crap for “doing their own thing all the time” which seems odd coming from the Linux community.

I came to Ubuntu initially because it was the new hotness, I’ve never really had an issue with it functionally in 12 years or so, so no real need to change.

Why not deb? Why not any number of other distros? I do run deb on my NAS as it goes and I’m not trying to stan for Ubuntu (honestly) but it gets a lot of undeserved hate. It’s not a super exciting distro or anything but it tends to work fine for me.

You can even plug em into your phone and transfer from there, super handy on the go.

Really? They did a ton of work to make Linux accessible to the masses, have an active and helpful community to help out if you get stuck, works really well out of the box on most hardware and you’re pretty much guaranteed there’s going to be a compatible deb available for it if you’re looking for software outside normal repos. Seems like a no brainer tbh.

I don’t think it’s about people lying to themselves, it’s just some of the stuff it predicts seems oddly specific they don’t even consider it.

Amazing stuff, the devs were a decent bunch too, I distinctly remember pestering a dev to create a save game loader that would write saves from a disk to a vmu on the irc channel for wraggster’s dcemu forum. Might have to dig out my old Dreamcast if it still lives.
