Alles dreht sich, alles bewegt sich.

There is KeeWeb but I am not sure how well maintained it is. This issue is still open. It might be worth contacting your employers IT department instead. Asking for a well known password manager like KeePass shouldn’t raise any eyebrows.

I can’t speak from personal experience but Emacs has RTL support, is themeable, and there are a few plaintext email clients implemented on top of it that could work for you.

That guy, antifascist? I never met an antifascist who keeps splitting hair on whether a guy, who calls for the ethnic cleansing of non-white people from the UK, and who compared Roma people to wolves, might be fascist. Andreas Kling literally boosts white replacement theory tweets. That goes way beyond weird in my book. Vaxry, maybe, I don’t know. He could be just an asshole, but being really nasty to trans people specifically is kinda a dog whistle in itself.

Probably the cheapest marketing campaign they ever bought.

Nicco says a lot of things, especially when it comes to defending fascists. That wasn’t even the first time.
Also, the idea that you can’t ban something just because a few people will get away with it is false. Literally all rules work that way. The average slop coder isn’t subtle about it and they will get banned if they try to pass of their extrusions as their own work. Contributors who stick around usually do because they care about that community. These contributors will then also respect that communities rules and values.

Same here. When the community found out about the inclusion of that weird akademy talk they tried to deflect that everything is up to discussion. I pointed out that they closed the thread that was trying to do that and got blocked shortly after. This was before they created that AI ticket.

Of course you can ban AI use. Nobody says theft is pointless to ban just because some people will get away with it. The discussion also isn’t just on technical terms. The companies behind these models and the damage they are doing to the environment and our societies are a big reason for the dislike of this technology.

Nothing global at the moment but some projects within GNOME already ban AI contributions. There is a discussion about it on the forums. I think it looks a little bit better for now. At least you don’t get banned for saying that you have ethical concerns like KDE is now doing.

Too obvious, we need to workshop that. How about “We own the ICE”. Also someone needs to implement the “partnered groceries” program so people stop pirating cold air. I am sick of people side loading food. Third party and homebrew food is a huge security risk after all.

Well maybe this will make hosting CI runners for Mac and iOS development less of a joke.

Yeah but its OK when its Apple and not Zuckerberg who are doing it. I have no idea why Apple keeps getting away with everything they do. They could release Metas creepy smartglasses tomorrow in an aluminium finish and people would love them and excuse any privacy concerns.

These Smart TVs are hanging in lots of meeting rooms at companies around the world. I wonder how many IT departments thought about checking for this.

Respect to Antoine. Having principles that are worth a damn is a rare trait amongst developers these days.

You mean the work that that nobody is forcing them to do? The one they do by their own choice while not asking consent and respecting the wishes of others? Yep those devs sound pretty fucking scummy to me.

OsmAnd~ with Brouter works very well on Android. You can even choose various routing modes that change how much it avoids large roads. Unfortunately its a bit fiddly to setup and the OsmAnd UX is extremely yanky.

This email from 2016 by jwz springs to mind.
I guess you want Debian to be the kind of operation that uses the work of others while blatantly and explicitly ignoring the wishes of the person who did the actual creative work.
I am increasingly of the opinion that all software developers and adjacent people are fucking scum unless proven otherwise.
They literally connected these fridges to the internet without even changing the default password.
