I found myself using my phone less and less too, and to be honest, I’m even feeling healthier mentally. Portable devices were supposed to improve our life, not make it worse. Big tech did something really terrible to phones :(

Fun fact; Here in Brazil, the cheaper tv models being sold are 720p, and a lot of people buy them and don’t even know what video resolution is, neither they feel like missing something lol

I’d recommend installing f-droid and having fun testing all the free apps you can, removing google stuff one by one, then, after feeling comfortable, trying a custom rom, and when you eventually need a new phone, looking for a model more friendly to degoogling.

If it didn’t bother, they wouldn’t care to invest so much in making it harder for us, and if it bothers them, it means we’re on the right track.

If so, they’re really problematic with linux, since they were released, due to some obscure stuff in their soc. I remember even people who formatted and reinstalled windows losing functionality.
This one requirement I believe to be already met. Mobile kde, for one, is pretty nice. I believe the bottleneck of linux phones are really in the hardware
