Linux@lemmy.ml•"Just Switched to MX Linux and I’m Already Obsessed I love it.
111·4 days agoMX Linux is a midweight, desktop-oriented Linux distribution based on Debian Stable 13 “trixie” that emphasizes stability, performance, and ease of use.
Why not Debian directly instead of MX?

interesting things and posts indeed
you can edit the layouts and add what’s missing
repetition is risky
i used AnySoftKeyboard for years. I started using Heliboard recently and i was able to customise it almost as much as ASK.
Heliboard is less buggy and is updated regularly (unlike ASK which is updated once a year or once in 3 years).
I use HB to write in 3 different languages with habits borrowed from each other so i need to be able to personalise any button and its popups, placements &c to my liking.
If you think that “Every board is almost exactly wrong. There is always something missing.” then you just don’t know how to use heliboard. It’s as flexible as ASK.Settings > Languages and Layouts > ‘language of your choice’ > Layout
There you can edit the layout and add whatever you think is missing

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•How do you use services which only allows google login?
8·1 month agoplay services have access to every app on your phone.
If you don’t want boogle to have your personal data, you need to nip that thing.
if you’re starting degoogling, do yourself a favor, save time and install a clean OS. Yes, you can degoogle with adb but it takes some effort and it’s never as clean and efficient as lineage or graphene.
for the time, this can help ☞
pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.gms
pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.gsf
pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.ims

you would have the same problem with any distro you try. you just need to search forums and tweak a little
for example: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=466301
i had the same problem but it’s been years and i don’t remember how i fixed it, sorry
