  • Windows has better accessability features than linux does. Itsn ot talked about much but ive been in meetings with people with disabilities, survivors of accidents, etc… and Windows is the only real option. If you are blind there are standard programs that they use.

Its the one area i think linux could use real work. A couple of places ive put in pull requests to help out from time to time.

Otherwise linux is generally better ;)

  • Yep the thing is to learn at least one, then its VERY easy to jump into another (usually). The simple things such as loops, functions, classes, etc…etc… are all about the same nowadays. Its more about what you are trying to do rather than the language you find yourself using.

If I had to do it again, I would try out either python (for a on computer solution), javascript for web stuff, or C/C++ if you want to go crazy and learn low level stuff. Go/Rust is fine too. Any language is ok really. Just try it out and see what you like!

  • Ive played around with a couple, mostly from hugging face. Some of the minimal modelsvare halfway decent at SQL and some specific ones are good with templates and html. You cam string them up for agentic work without issue. I found the performance worse than generation tools for the same software tasks. It was neat to try though.
