Limo: A simple Qt based mod manager

Someone mentioned this on a the recent discussions about Nexus Mods cancelling their Linux mod loader, and after trying it out I thought it was worth making a dedicated post about it.

I just used Jackify to install Viva New Vegas modpack. Too bad it doesn’t support non-premium Nexus Mods downloads. As a workaround, I have installed Wabbajack via Jackify, opened it, and used Wabbajack to streamline downloading the mods into a specified folder. Then I went back to Jackify and pointed it to the folder with mods, which skipped the Nexus Mods premium check. Thankfully, it was “only” 140 mods for manual clicking. I would go insane if i tried to get a modlist with 500+ mods.

Do we have anything yet other than vortex that can handle nexus mods collections?

What’s this about nexus having cancelled their Linux mod loader? Have they changed their plans regarding the nexus mods app?

Edit: Just saw that they’re retiring the nexus mods app to go back to working on vortex. whyyyyyyyy

In case anyone wants it, you can get Vortex working with WINE games. It’s a pain, and it does have issues, but it can be done. I’ve only ever seen people say it can’t work, but you can run it under the same prefix as the game and have it function 95% of the way fine. There will be some warnings that won’t go away though.

I bet this has something to do with them being sold off last year and the new owners not seeing the cross platform app as being worth it
