      I also toyed with the same idea when the RAM and SSD shortages popped up. However, in this specific case, it doesn’t look so — because printed circuit boards go every bloody where, including the braindead terminal-like things* you’d need to have to access someone else’s computer “the cloud”.

      *I refuse to call them “computers”

      Bandwidth also will become more expensive because all internet infra is also dependent on this stuff

      You still need computers to reach the cloud. And even something low power is enough to replace most cloud services.

      All we need is the right to sideload and jailbreak. Which were once called owning a computer.
