- Amazon has struggled to make inroads in Argentina because of high tariffs and labyrinthine import regulations.
- MercadoLibre, Latin America’s biggest e-commerce platform, dominates the digital commerce market.
- A network of smugglers who ferry goods into the country is booming.
Good job Argentina.
“a network of smugglers” sounds very entrepreneurial.
Just a small business. Nothing to see here 😂
Or else, comprende?
Amazon can go fuck itself!
The rain forest is okay though
Because they have something like 200% inflation.
Always a big fan of more western influence over south and central american countries.
Not even joking, they have a murder culture that needs to change. It doesn’t surprise me at all that gangsters have such a presence there.
I wonder why?/s
It’s not like operation condor brought them prosperity.
America made this problem.
Yeah, more northern hemisphere influence is just what they need. It’s not like that already let to Operation Condor and Milei.
…
don’t forget Pinochet!
Milei seems to at least be fixing inflation. It’s already down to 117% from nearly 300% in April. He has been in office just over a year and reversed a very troubling inflationary trend.
Time will tell if he’s a positive influence for Argentina long-term. The changes have certainly been painful in the short-term, but if lower inflation leads to higher investment and growth, it could fix some of the worst of the economic problems.
He crushed the inflation by doubling poverty and killing domestic consumption. Not something anyone should be proud of.
