Wait where’s china, russia, turkey, iran, dprk, or any of those countries on this list? They were all before 2000, right? Right?
Migrating here (or maybe keeping both) from @ArcaneSlime@lemmy.ml
Will put an eternal curse on your enemies for a Cinemageddon invite.

Maybe she meant cream filled?
You’re gonna make him pull out? Lame.
Gabba gabba we accept you, one of us! One of us!
Welcome to the club! One bit of advice: Be not afraid of the terminal. Learn to use it, it’s a powerful tool and very useful. I recommend going to youtube and following along with a “bash basics” or “linux terminal basics” type video or two as if it were a class, it’ll help familiarize you with some of the more commonly used tools to navigate your system and stuff.
Not the first time and won’t be the last, we’ll endure.
Snorblite for sure, fuck the ATF.
And not all of this is due to employees, rather, management issues that have gotten worse over time. But I still believe the root cause is a negative change in people’s work ethic.
Personally I’d say you made the exact opposite clear while throwing a lil blame at the management’s way so it wouldn’t sound as disconnected from reality. Beatings will continue until morale improves I guess.
Ah damn, well sorry I couldn’t be more help!
My brother laser printer/scanner needed brscan in addition to (iirc) brlaser. Didn’t see you mention it, so it may be worth a look if you missed it on the brother linux drivers page for your printer.
Also RIP Neofetch, maintainer became a farmer. Fastfetch iirc is the new one.
Not trying to be a dick, just trying to help, but the word you want is “…the internet is wont to do.” It’s a weird ass homophone.
The thing that he doesn’t understand is that he cannot ascertain my “entire personality” by simply seeing the facets of it I show in linux forums.
Furthermore, I would argue that creating and singularly sustaining a salty “fuck linux” community puts OP pretty far up the list of “linux is entire personality,” even if “anti-” it’s still likely more than most of us tbh. Like I say, all I know of them is from that comm so I’m sure there’s other facets to their personality I’m not privy to, I’m just saying, who is really more obsessed, the guy posting in forums and sometimes recommending it as an alternative when people complain about windows, or the guy who runs a whole ass hate community dedicated to it? Ironic, really.
Just a heads up,
Most of my tools won’t run, (you can likely find alternatives for most, barring adobe)
most of my self made tools won’t run, (well you can fix that, now can’t ya? You made em once you can make em again)
most of my games won’t run, (Destiny player? Seems most single players run these days, but yeah the kernel level anticheat “required” by many online games renders them unplayable, because even if they do run like destiny you just get acct banned for playing on linux. This is the fault of the companies though, not on linux or its community for hating the kernel level spyware, of course.)
most 4 decades of internalization of shortcuts won’t cut it short anymore. (Actually you may be surprised, many windows shortcuts still work on KDE, and you can configure them however you want if there’s something missing. Plus you’d learn any “new” ones quicker than you may think.)
But yeah that said it isn’t for everybody. Just gotta weigh the cost/benefit, is it worth it to you to learn a little about a new UI to escape microsoft’s actively hostile anti-consumer practices, or would you rather just grin and bear it for “ease” (though it could be argued that “learning the new thing and being done with it” is actually easier than dealing with windows, just that learning the new thing frontloads the “hard” while dealing with microsoft is a constant annoyance. But I digress.)
I’ve always theorized that it should be possible to have multiple wake words with different functions, some invisible to the user.
It has to be “always listening” for the wake word to function at all, so it clearly is doing that, what’s to stop them from having another wake word like “bomb” which it then starts recording and sends to the NSA for instance, or even “clip the last 30 seconds” like an xbox could be feasible. Or even have corporations pay to get on the “list” of secret trigger words, like Toyota pays and it hears “Toyota” or “new car” and starts serving ads for 2026 Celicas (I wish lol). It doesn’t even have to send much data back for that, just “ohp, said word, check box to join ‘toyota’ ad group.”
I’m not saying they do that, but like, it sounds totally easily possible and I can’t be the first person that had this idea, why wouldn’t they?
Hell to be fair I don’t trust most of the brands I do recognize either lol.
I’ve heard tell of this, I’ve been wondering something. Can you change your wifi password, give it the new one for setup, and then disconnect and restore your typical password and continue to use the TV, or does it need an active connection?
Do you follow the local news in a city 275 miles from where you live? I don’t.
You mean to tell me you live in NYC? Otherwise you’re breaking your own rule being aware of the shooting (which has been pushed hard on every news outlet be it TV, internet, radio, or print since 1h after it happened, and would be hard not to know about.)
The rest, yeah, but c’mon the entire world basically watched this in real time. I was showing the video around work literally at 8am and it happened at 6am, not much delay.
FedoraKDE, or Mint.
Either way you’ll probably be able to search and find answers to your problems (and answers for ubuntu may work), and with mint you know your friend can possibly help if need be, and they work well.
Not a valid BIN/IIN.
Afaik there is no company that starts their cards with 8, so I doubt it’ll work.
3 - AE
4 - Visa
5 - MC
6 - Discover
1 is used for airline cards iirc.
Yes.
