The metapor is that the individual package is a library of exported functions (the books). Package managers are more like inter-library loans in this metaphor, but I think that is pushing the analogy further than is useful.

I’d definitely read a blog post about this, so if you decide to look into it you should write something up and post it. Maybe it’s standards based?

Which, as they note, is what all the temporal apis return anyway (Temporal.PlainTime et al). There’s only so much you can fix in the language at this point, I suppose.
