  • Torvalds should create a standards/stewardship for a my-first-linux introduction to linux. Super minimalist and specifically puts limits on its complexity. Make it good enough for the average person who has installed windows machines to be able to install

And every one of you linux people need to support all distros including the ones youve never heard of, or wouldnt touch it with the appropriate substitute of 10ft pole

The amount of bickering ive seen about “best distros” is insane. You people sound like rabid sports fans, or idiotic ford vs chevy luddites.

Linux as a brand needs a massive overhaul of its public image.

And that happens by making it dumb stupid easy for people to get started.

What does your computer need to do? Identify a set up, including a version of all the tools 40% of all users will need or rely on, and make it simple to plug a peripheral in and make it work seemlessly.

IIIRC im told Mint is most of the way to this.

If gamers are who made windows what it is today, i think its going to be content creators who will push the next era of pc users

  • Thanks for the time and effort.

I was confused we weren’t using C+ at the time i was “learning”

We were using 286 sx machines and Pentium 2s were already out.

It was a department that didn’t have anyone in it that apparently actually knew what they were doing. Absolutely killed my idea of becoming a game programmer.

Just wish i could have had my beat friends dad teach me, but that just never happened sadly

  • Okay, can you ELI5 what this is, what it does, and what you(the project) want this to accomplish for someone like me who wanted to learn programming 30 years ago, and made a snowfield in turbopascal but couldnt continue because my highschool sucked so bad?

Edit: my okay was in response to feel free to ask me anything. I’m taking your words as written

  • Sybian doesn’t do everything it could do, so i didn’t want to call it the ultimate. But it does not seem to have any contenders that aren’t knock offs so it does feel like a Pinnacle as a vibrator if not as a sex toy

I wanted to show for what comes next. Maybe I’m wrong and there isn’t, but a sybian that can view your reactions and learn each users unique preferences would be an improvement

A sybian as the hips of a sex robot maybe? Like its fine, but its just a box , you get on to get off and then it is done with you. Theres no after care or anything else.

I guess a portable discreet version will require entirely new components that we probably cant manufacture yet, or are cost prohibited.

I dunno what the ultimate is, so penultimate seems a good choice to use if i can see improvements to it that dont yet exist

  • That’s kid icarus and al uncer jrs racing for me.

I remember my grandmother playing those games with us and she was exactly the person who would gesture with her hands as she was trying to play the game. When the character turned or jumped, her hands would do the same thing, she fling the controller out of her hands at least once that i remember trying to jump to a new platform in kids Icarus

  • That’s exactly the wrong take.

Provide something that isn’t what they need in order to fill a need they have.

That’s like giving someone drugs instead to masque symptoms of working in the problem and addressing it.

But that’s not right either. If providing sexual encounters was real and done appropriately then there this situation might still exists. If it’s the physical space and intimacy that are triggering, then a robot is a very good choice if it provides some of the missing human experiences that missing out on when desired make for more broken people
