Ebay banned me instantly when i sold a gpu a few years ago but when i opened an account just to buy shit I haven’t really had a problem with ih. They never even explained to me what the ban was for either, something about a TOS violation but they wouldn’t say what the violation even was

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•What's a good entry level printer these days?
6·4 months agoMy local library got Bambu Lab A1’s and those have been stupid reliable.
I also chose an ender 3 as a starter, not because it was cheap, but because i like messing with things, definitely not a printer for someone who just wants it to work all the time.

4·4 months agoI think Joshua tree is alright but all the other tapes I have of theirs sits in a bin ready to get used for testing crappy decks
I also printed this, just make sure to enforce the leg pegs with a tiny screw instead of plastic peg cause i broke a ton of those little things

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•RAM and SSD prices are still climbing—here’s our best advice for PC builders
31·5 months agoI lucked the fuck out and got my build done 1 week before this started. Same kit i got for 90 costs 375 now
I installed mainsail os and use it as my main controller for my 3d printer, sounds complex but it just needs a usb cable and the firmware can upload itself

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•A more reliable way to use Steam chat on Linux
201·5 months agoStill find it strange that the steam linux client performs that badly, you’d think with steam os they’d focus on knocking these bugs out but I’ve had vanishing context menus for years now, even in alt tab view

Linux@programming.dev•Open source project curl is sick of users submitting “AI slop” vulnerabilities
57·1 year agoI caught a stray bullet reading that.
Not even remotely, just a thing I noticed about people who use AI art. They don’t like to put in effort, they want someone else to do the work for them, constantly. Your responses in this thread hint that you have no interest at all in actively working towards new solutions to your problems, you just whinge and then say “Well, what can I do? It’s their problem!”
You ai people are just insufferable

Programming@programming.dev•What is the difference between an API, a Library, a Package, and a Framework?
1·1 year agoOpengl is a weird edge case because the way it links into c programs is cursed. GLAD GLUT and GLFW just make using opengl itself easier by doing all of the library loading automatically. Because there are so many versions of opengl you have to load the specific one you want at runtime, alongside all the separate extension libraries that may or may not be in different binaries, directories, etc.
OpenGL is the exception and not the rule in the normal library - api - program paradigm.

Genuinely pointless when the game only processes inputs once between frames, I don’t know of any actual game that would take advantage of more than 400hz polling
