  • My early mistakes are when I downloaded the Blaster virus, not sure what I was going for when I got it. Then there were the mistakes where I pirated an audiobook on someone else’s network and they actually got a C&D letter over it. And sometimes even now and then, I’ll forget to turn on my ProtonVPN after downloading some things and the site I’ve pirated from, is still sitting idling in my browser with my actual IP exposed and I didn’t close it.

    You just live and learn.

So I just always find it funny some pirates around some communities, get such an egotistical stroking of themselves when they make bold claims as to not having screwed up. They did, just don’t want to mention it.

  • Yes, you’d be right and I don’t like anyone who boasts, gloats and brags about their pirating activities. We’re all pirating for a varied assortment of reasons, personal or spite or logical, but it comes down to the fact that we’re getting stuff for free and saves us tons of money. So, we all should universally be in glee about that alone. However, being louder about it, increases risks and chances of our sources being taken from us before we know it.

A lot of great sources of pirating has been taken from us over the past 5 years, sources we’d never thought would be taken down (before anyone says The Pirate Bay, that site has long lost its purpose, its symbolism now.) Sometimes it isn’t because people were loud, it is just because of the network of government bodies being in bed with entertainment industries and law enforcement that are really throwing everything at the wall to take down piracy in general.

But sometimes, they wouldn’t have targeted anything if the loud-mouths would shut up.
