but why would I post it if that wasn’t true?
Dozens of reasons, really. People do irrational stuff all the time.

Sure, I get that. But I can also just as easily say the same thing and claim it is one of the largest companies in the world.
You are 100% corect that we should not trust companies with our data. No argument there. Please just realize we might have some skepticism.

I appreciate this post, but this is also a lot of “trust me, bro” to…well, trust.

This is 1 million% what’s at play here. Tech bros HATE that they have to deal with stupid laws, and putting a server outside of the jurisdiction of literally every country is a dream. A giant server ship has to dock, it needs fuel…not so with something in orbit (in Elon fantasy land anyway)

Yeah, I looked at myself and one data broker that either I missed or hasn’t honored my takedown request lists my political affiliation for a state where that’s public info.
That’s free info to scrape where available. No need to waste LLM subscriptions on it.

Oi crikey mate, I’m a 6’4" tall Swedish Olympic carpenter named Liam. Pip pip! I love to eat lingenberries!
That ought to buy me a few days…

Are you sure that’s not a data broker site? They collect publicly available into, which an include political party, and can get supper invasive like this.

I love so much that there are real, hilarious consequences for overzealous early adoption. You can’t make this shit up.

Even better!
You likely had it 20+ years ago, especially in the mountains. The Hilux pickup is fairly indestructible. Top Gear did an episode where they tried to kill one (linked below in other comments) and couldn’t. It’s rather impressive. I’ve seen the same exact model rolling around Africa and the Balkans today. ISIS fighters were known for using them as platforms for large-caliber guns. It’s all about basic utility, stability, Toyota parts are easy to swap out, and adaptability to anything you feel like bolting on to it.

Not the OS.
The OS “provider”
Linus Torvalds ain’t gonna check my ID. And i don’t want him to, either.

All Americans should have frozen their credit years ago.

This is over the top. I’ve had this trying to get a rarely used email account back, but if you own the account that can reset the password…why do this?
Best episode they ever did.
No one realizes how perfect of a choice this actually is.
Sure, but many likely have that contact saved with Google, so it’s not like they were secret to begin with.

Meh, not really a full collapse. Just like 75% of it and a huuuuge recession. Or maybe a “Tiny Depression”? Basically, 10 years to recover. Which is where we’re going anyway, with out without AI.

Didn’t R2D2 have one of these?

No… Firefox and forks are all Gecko engine.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gecko_(software)
You’re confusing “Chrome” as in Google Chrome, with the chromium engine. Vivaldi amd Brave both run on that, plus Edge.
I’m not making any argument other than why you may experience some skepticism.
