I have a hard time mustering sympathy for either of them.
Congratulations on going above and beyond! As a sign of the company’s gratitude, here is another pile of shit with an even more unreasonable deadline! You got this, Mr. Rockstar!
villainy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft's many Outlooks are confusing users and employeesEnglish101·18 days agoTeams is mostly fine these days and I think it’s the only MS product that is getting better over time instead of worse. If you have a competent IT team then the various MS integrations can actually work well to make Teams a usable one stop for comms, recordings/transcripts, scheduling, file sharing, etc.
New features are slow to come but they do come. The insane memory footprint became much more reasonable for me when they moved from Electron to their own Edge-based WebView2 thing last year. The preview builds have finally combined the “teams” channel listings and ad-hoc chats into one tab where you can group them together however you want.
Teams still pisses me off on occasion but no more than any other piece of enterprise software. It’s fine.

The HP Reverb 2 was a pretty good VR headset for the price. I felt like I got my money’s worth out of it without any significant issues.

I have seen dozens of systems migrated from Gentoo to CentOS by live swapping the userspace and eventually rebooting into the new kernel. A hair raising experience to be sure.

villainy@lemmy.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•What projects does the opensource world lack5·1 month agoDNS management. Think something like InfoBlox where I can have GUI driven control from simple adding a new zone record all the way up to full anycast configuration.
I love the terminal and CLIs to death but zone files suck and setting up bind or unbound/nsd is more painful than it should be.

Less
We are boycotting Amazon products until they stop be bad
More
We are boycotting Amazon products until they make another season of The Expanse
Or whatever. Clear, concrete, demands.
villainy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon Boycot March 7-14th | No Purchases. Its time to disrupt the system.English541·1 month agoThat boycott had a demand attached, to prevent the sinking of the Brent Spar buoy. Effectively “unlimited” boycott until Shell gave into the demand.
This and the last no shop Friday thing seem mostly pointless. I mean fuck Amazon for sure but shouldn’t there be some goal? “Boycott Amazon until X, Y, and Z” not “No buy from Amazon for a week but then we’ll be back so no worries!”
Awesome! I guess I’m a nerd!

I know the current state of the infotainment based on what is entering my ears. I also know the location of the physical controls and how they alter that state without taking my eyes off the road. Non-touch screens and physical controls is fine.

A short or a seized fan causing draw to spike in a way the board didn’t like. OP doesn’t give any detail on what “wasn’t booting” means. If it’s failing to post it should still throw you a code in some manner as a starting point.

Cyberpunk ZERO Sievert? Could be neat!
Sarcasm is difficult enough to convey in paragraphs of text, let alone a single sentence title. Also, the Linux communities on Lemmy see the occasional wave of trolls coming in to shout about how"Linux is just as bad as Windows!" You’re starting out way behind even before anyone views the video.
