Oh goodie, another online-only f2p hero/extraction shooter with daily quests and lootboxes Ultimate Maintenance Boxes.

From the looks of one of the reviews, a 3-week long daily grind quest if you want to get the good stuff without paying. Plus “ACE” anti cheat which will remain installed after you uninstall the game and an overly long, forced tutorial.

Overall, possibly fun if you only intend to play it sporadically and don’t mind not having everything, or abandoning it within 1 or 2 months.

OK… I play to have fun with friends. It seems so far the game games. There is enough other useless idiots to match with so we can all suck together.

I am assuming this an issue for competitive types?

I don’t get that vibe from the comment. If those games are your jam, go nuts. It would be nice to have a co op mode of an extraction shooter though so I can play with my friends in a less brutal environment.

Fromsoft could’ve done this with Armoured Core VI. I think they’re testing the waters with Elden Ring Nightreign.

This is why I’m unconvinced when people make the argument that “the PvP hero shooter market is just too saturated” when a game like Concord flops.

The Chinese gaming market is really heating up it seems.

To be fair, if Concord was F2P and didn’t cost $40, it probably would still be around rn. Or if they advertised it better. A shitton of comments about the game were saying they never even heard of it until it was in the news for getting shutdown so quickly.

In the hypothetical where Concord was F2P it still would be competing against juggernauts like OW2 and now Marvel Rivals, but with a cast that is objectively not pleasing to the eye. It could still be alive but it would 100% not be thriving.

It’s consistently one of the most played games on steam.

112 thousand are playing it right now, making it the 9th most currently played game.

Dota 2 which is almost always the most or second most played game was also released in 2013

Well yeah, a game still popular after a decade must be pretty damn badass.

Age is mostly irrelevant in regards to game quality.

If you think it would be more impressive that it overtook more recent games on Steam… Well look at the list, it overtook all of those too except CS2 and PUBG (if you even consider that a recent game at this point)

The picture in the article is the top 7, irrespective of release date
