Im currently running bazzite, but the flickering has also happened on OpenSUSE

Im running the games via Heroic and Steam, both installed via normal packages (no flatpak)

Running via Proton-GE latest (10-10 at this point)

Running on a 1080p 144hz monitor connected with displayport

I have a ryzen 5 5600x, rtx 3060ti

I will try using a Gsync Monitor, but if anyone has any idea I’m open for it

Edit: Thanks to everyone, changing the Monitor did the Trick. I had a MSI MAG271CR, which already has had problems randomly disconnecting from Linux, and not showing a picture again until I did some shinanigans changing the resolutions

I changed my Main Monitor to a (Gsync compatible) Acer XB270H A, and it has none of these problems

I will check later. I have two machines on my bench with Bazzite. One with a 7800xt and another with a 2070 super. I usually encounter most issues with Nvidia. Bazzite is usually on the bleeding edge driver.

I have that issue sometimes even with older games or anything with 3D.

In KDE I hit META-F12 to disable to compositor and it usually does the trick.

Have you tried it under windows? If you have the same symptoms with 2 different distros I’d be considering a hardware problem, trying it in windows would eliminate or confirm that possibility.

Maybe try it in CachyOS and see how that goes, though it looks like Bazzite and Fedora-based shenanigans perform fine. However, after checking ProtonDB, it looks to be a Proton issue, and since seeing that you’re utilizing similar specs to mine (I have an R9 5900X), I wonder if it’s a DRM issue for RE7.
