Still, I’m enjoying older games. They’re fine. For anything modern, the PS5 can run them. For anything small, the Legion Go S can run them.

Looking at things they recommend I buy, I see the usual collection of things I bought once years ago, and completely random shit that I’d never be interested in in a million years. All that data collected, for what? How these people are worth trillions I’ll never know.

I love the feature where I paste something into an email, and then it stops me typing by popping up a useless menu.

My second favourite is the one where you’re typing, and suddenly it starts treating all your keypresses as shortcuts and deleting things. I love that.

And don’t even get me started on Outlook search. I can no longer find any emails, even by typing in the things that were on them.

But hey, at least an admin can fuck it all up from one place!

I watched it remove a JSON library include from the code because it wasn’t used yet, and then in the very next prompt where we needed our again, it attempted to write a basic parser from scratch…

I mean it’s certainly super intelligence compared to him and the people he’s put in charge…

Maybe you shouldn’t have insisted your employees use it then, in the hopes that you’d be able to fire most of them.

You’re absolutely correct, that was a school and not a uranium enrichment facility. You’re right to push back on that.

You can reject it in your own projects. That’s about it. If you’re open source and accepting any submissions, you’ve no idea if they’re LLM generated or not.

Realistically, I think everything actively maintained is going to have some LLM code in it by now. You can either accept it or go mad, tbh.

Art is one thing, and I can see why we wouldn’t want the computer doing that if you have the resources to employ people, but code is rarely art. Most of it was already slop. It’s had things shoehorned into it by shouty managers decades ago. Claude is far from perfect, but so are most of the people doing the gruntwork.

Realistically there’s no sense in a Steam Deck 2 in the midst of the AI-pocalypse. Any meaningful improvement in performance will mean a price of £1000+.
